GRAND GROUP

Grand Group was established in 1947 by Mr. S.M. Iqbal, when the entire GRAND FAMILY migrated from Ferozpur (India) to Lahore (Pakistan).  Mr. S.M. Iqbal started the business of import and export, representing Oldham Batteries and Flexy Brushes, Ley Land Spare Parts from England and Bosch Electronic and Diesel Parts from Germany.  After a very hard day & night struggle of 3 years Mr. Iqbal was able to produce the FIRST LEAD ACID BATTERY OF PAKISTAN and then named it GRAND. Grand Battery really became the world famous brand of Battery . Mr. Rehmatullah Javed his elder son was trained to manufacture Batteries at VARTA Germany who also  remained Executive Director & General Manager of Grand Batteries Pakistan Ltd. for over 20 years. Mr Javed is now the Chairman of GRAND GROUP. 

Grand Battery being the 1st Lead Acid Battery Produced in Pakistan, broke the monopoly of foreign battery manufacturers and earned 1st order of 3,300 batteries from the Ministry of Defence and then Grand became the single solid  source for the supply batteries in Pakistan for many years (from 1950 to 1985).  Grand Batteries manufactured batteries for Army, Air force, Navy, WAPDA, RTB, Scouts, Railways and exported to Iran, Iraq, Kuwait and other Middle East countries including Saudi Arabia.  GRAND BATTERIES also served the Defence Forces of Pakistan at the time of National Emergency for all Types of Batteries  in two wars with India - 1965 & 1971.Mr.Sanaullah Sheikh is now the Chief Executive of GRAND BATTERIES and Grand Battery is now OEM with many Automobile & Motor Cycle manufacturers.
